So I am now over two years into my first major writing project. I have had a couple of productive weekends as I have re written about three chapters from scratch. I have found that is the best thing to do. I have tried editing my ideas into the existing chapters, but it always made them seem jagged, like they didn't flow. Maybe it was just because I knew what was wedged in. Anyways, I have spent a lot of time thinking about my chapters and characters and I am no longer content to write the first thing that comes to mind. I am getting better at playing through the scenarios and planning for the long term of the character. Until recently, I for some reason have been unable to drastically alter my characters, but this weekend I took a giant step towards that. It is something my character will have to live with throughout the entirety of the series.
I am making more of an effort to blog as two posts in six months just isn't enough. I would like to get back to at least one or two a month, but preferably more.
I still can't believe it has been two years since I started this project. And though I have actually written a full book, I am still not happy with it. I am getting there, but it is taking time, more than I would've thought. I thought I would've had the whole project wrapped up by now and be on to the next. I'm getting there. I haven't given up.
