I've decided I need to step back from my first draft of Kallodhan for a little while. I need some time to let things sink in and then come back to it with a renewed optimism. I've heard that it's sometimes a good idea to step away from your work and give it time to breath. It's a good idea because you're too close to it and you think that everything you write is gold, but if you take time away and then look back, you can more easily spot your follies. This is the approach I'm going to take, even though it will push back my books deadline. I anticipated to have it done by the end of March, but I think the pressure of my deadline was getting to me and I felt that I was rushing the editing, which is something I really didn't want to do.
I am going to keep writing as I have numerous ideas for other books and short stories. I am going to take a short break away from Kallodhan and focus on some of these for a little while and hopefully improve my craft, so that when I do return to Kallodhan, it will be as a slightly better writer.
I have added an "Another Works" tab to my blog and will be posting non Kallodhan related articles and short stories there.
I will be back to Kallodhan soon.
