So Yesterday I actually finished the first draft of my book. It's been a long time coming, (Exactly 9 months) but every second spent was worth it. The total before editing is 148,000 words, (I did however cut 2 chapters, one of which was written, and moved them to the next book) but that will drastically change once I start editing. I'm actually looking forward to it, though I know it will be quite different from what I've been doing. I've never really edited anything properly before, so I'm excited to see how this goes. I keep hearing how tedious and time consuming it will be, but so far I've been able to view it from a positive light, though that may change once I start going.
In any case, it's a big day for me. I finally finished a book, even if its no good and no one reads it, I can still say "I wrote a book." And I'm sure there will be others. I have two more in mind for this series and about 10 ideas for other books.
Sometime this weekend I hope to write a back cover for my book to give people an idea of the story, characters and what to expect because so far up to this point, no one really knows anything. I've been pretty vague with my blog posts, but that's because I wasn't sure which way the story was going to go. Now that it's done though, I can go ahead and at least write a rough back cover.
Anyways, I've very excited and hope to have more news concering the book soon.
On another note. If my blog posts have spelling errors, improper grammar or incorrect wording, it's because I write them fast and usually post without editing. But since I'm now in the editing phase of my book, I'm going to try to correct that.
